Parrots Paradise is a ground floor one bedroom self-contained apartment that comfortably sleeps three adults sharing the one bedroom. The apartment can sleep four at a squeeze as there is an additional single bed available for use.
The apartment is situated in a semi-rural area on the outskirts of Plymouth, on the beautiful Caribbean island of Tobago. Set in over an acre of orchard land, it is truly a thing of beauty. Being just a 20 minute drive from the airport and in close proximity to local bars, restaurants, convenience stores and even an atm, it is ideally situated to enjoy the local delights of the island. Local cuisine is in abundance and definitely worth sampling.
The grounds are the home to many local birds and has been described as a bird watchers paradise. The species that like to frequent the homestead include Parrots and Mot Mot’s, or as the locals call them 'The King of the Woods'. There are reported to be 489 different species of birds seen on the island many of which can be seen from the property. If you want to get up close and personal with the Hummingbirds, then this is the place to come and stay. Hummingbird feeders sit proudly off the gallery and attract a vast array of the species in large numbers, so much so, at times, it sounds like there is a Plane taking off nearby!!
From the gallery you can sit and watch the different species of Lizards, Armadillos, Agouti and Iguanas. Don’t be worried though, whenever they see you move, they will scuttle off in a hurry.
The location provides easy access to all Tobago has to offer. This includes but is not limited to Pigeon Point, Store Bay, Bucco, (host of the famous Sunday School), Mount Irvine (a surfers paradise), Argyle Waterfall, Arnos Vale (a snorkelers paradise), the famous English Man’s Bay, Castara, Bloody Bay and Turtle Beach. Turtle Beach is where, if you are interested, you can watch the last living species related to the dinosaur family - The Giant Leatherback Turtle, lay their eggs (nesting season is between March and August).
I can assist you with linking up with local tour providers for boat trips and island tours. If I am in Tobago of course(usually between October and April), I will gladly show you the best that the island has to offer. Transport to and from the airport can be arranged.
Unfortunately the property is not suitable for young children under the age of 12 until after November 2024.
The cost per night is £50 for two adults sharing and £65 for three adults. Minimum stay is 3 nights. To make an enquiry regarding availability, please email: derek.sandy@hotmail.com or telephone 07748368405.
I am looking forward to welcoming you to this beautiful, unspoilt Caribbean island.
